Cleansers, moisturizers, and photoprotection are important aspects of acne management, and both clinicians and patients should be aware of the benefits they can provide. Dermocosmetics are recommended to be used as monotherapy for mild acne or maintenance following active treatment as well as adjuncts to acne medications to improve effectiveness and tolerance of acne treatment. Education and awareness are key to the successful incorporation of appropriate dermocosmetics into acne management.
