As modern education experiences a digital revolution, academic libraries are increasingly adopting disruptive technologies to revamp learning spaces and offer innovative, sustainable solutions. In recent years, academic libraries have developed beyond their conventional role as physical book repositories, becoming dynamic information hubs that seamlessly combine digital resources, interactive platforms and innovative tools. This study, therefore, explores the transformative impact of disruptive technologies within academic libraries and their substantial role in advancing sustainable development goals, utilising a comprehensive review of the literature. It provides key insights into how these technologies are reshaping education, improving information access and promoting ecological sustainability. Comprehending the manner in which these technologies redefine educational spaces, promote equitable access to information, and support ecological sustainability, will enable educational institutions to strategically align their efforts to advance both educational and sustainable development objectives.
