Abstract

Conversational artificial intelligence (AI) systems have witnessed remarkable advancements in recent years with ChatGPT (chat generative pretrained transformer), an advanced language model developed by Open AI emerging as a prominent model for producing human-like responses in natural language conversations. ChatGPT is built on the GPT-3.5 architecture and has been trained on a vast corpus of diverse textual data. The core objective of this proposed chapter is to analyze the performance of ChatGPT and also to know about the effectiveness of ChatGPT in conversational contexts, highlighting its potential applications as well as the challenges it presents. Furthermore, this proposed chapter investigates the limitations and challenges faced by ChatGPT. This chapter also provides an in-depth analysis of ChatGPT, highlighting its strengths, limitations, and broader societal implications. These include issues related to biased and unsafe responses, the model's sensitivity to input phrasing, and its susceptibility of generating incorrect information. Overall, this research chapter contributes to the understanding of ChatGPT's capabilities and limitations.
