The automotive industry is currently undergoing a profound transformation through digitalization, where advanced technologies are reshaping traditional processes and fostering innovation. This evolution extends beyond the design and production of vehicles, encompassing the entire supply chain. Digitalization plays a crucial role in revolutionizing manufacturing processes, introducing features like smart manufacturing, connected vehicles, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. The integration of digital technologies into the automotive supply chain enhances efficiency, reduces costs, and facilitates seamless collaboration among stakeholders. Therefore, this study seeks to initiate the development of a maturity model for digital supply chains within the automotive industry. As a result, an initial draft of the “Digital Supply Chain Maturity Model” (DSCMM) is introduced. Maturity levels and their corresponding characteristics are identified and detailed. The topic area is organized into ten dimensions. Although the model requires further refinement and extensive evaluation, this preliminary research can encourage future investigations and provide a robust foundation for the model's ongoing development.
