Abstract In light of the recent deviation in the W boson mass measurement from the CDF-II, which significantly from the Standard Model (SM) prediction, in this paper we explore the implications of this anomaly within the framework of the Two-Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM). We focus on the scenario where the heavy CP-even H is recognized as the observed Higgs boson at 125 GeV. Our analysis, which incorporates both theoretical and current experimental constraints as well as the new CDF measurement for the W boson mass, shows that the 2HDM parameter space can provide a substantial adjustment, which aligns the predicted W mass more closely with the new CDF $$M_W$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msub> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>M</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>W</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:msub> </mml:math> measurement. As a consequence, a positive mass splitting occurs between the charged Higgs boson and all other states, while the degenerate mass scenario ( $$M_{H^\pm } = M_A$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msub> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>M</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:msup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>H</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo>±</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:msup> </mml:mrow> </mml:msub> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:msub> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>M</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>A</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:msub> </mml:math> ) is disfavored.
