Hepatorenal syndrome is a common complication of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis. In our study, high serum bilirubin, Model for End-Stage Liver Disease-Sodium, and portal vein diameter are predictors of the development of hepatorenal syndrome in patients with spontaneous bacterial peritonitis.
