The Determinants of International Baccalaureate (IB) Choice in Morocco: Using the Logit Model

Abstract

This study investigates the factors that influence the choice of the international Baccalaureate in Morocco. Using survey data (n=214) and Logit model, we identified several significant predictors: like the localization area (B=1.64, p=0.02), the family-related variables, such as family size and sibling rank, exhibited a negative correlation with IB selection (B =-0.46, p = 0.01; B = -0.94, p= 0.00), the socioeconomic status also had a substantial impact (B = 0.82, p = 0.01), and preschool attendance (B = 1.62, p = 0.00). Overall, these findings highlight the importance of demographic, familial, and early educational factors in the choice of IB.
