In Africa, road transport played a vital role in facilitating the movement of goods and people, contrasting with the transportation modes prevalent in Europe. The European Union (EU) reported a distribution of transportation modes dominated by rail, sea/water, and air, while Africa heavily relied on road transport. The significance of road infrastructure in Africa, as highlighted by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Accenture, was underscored by its potential to reduce business costs, lower goods prices, and enhance product competitiveness. Kenya's road infrastructure development, as outlined in Vision 2030 and the Big Four Agenda, encountered challenges in achieving targeted road construction and maintenance due to supply chain collaboration issues. This study aimed to explore the impact of supply chain collaboration practices on the performance of road transport sector agencies in Kenya, with a focus on areas that previous research had not adequately covered. The study utilized a theoretical framework grounded in Collaborative Theory, exploring the connection between supply chain planning and agency performance. The study established a significant positive correlation between supply chain collaborations and agency performance through regression analysis. Recommendations emphasized the importance of maintaining effective collaboration and transparent financial management to strengthen agency performance. Future research could explore comparative studies across sectors and regions and investigate the long-term effects of supply chain collaborations on organizational performance. In addition, qualitative research provided deeper insights into the factors that influenced collaboration effectiveness and performance outcomes.
