Applying global conversion factors without accounting for regional variability leads to inaccurate carbon stock estimates, particularly in subtropical grassland systems where belowground allocation dominates. Accurate RSRs and CCFs are therefore critical for accurate carbon modelling and promoting conservation in these underrepresented ecosystems.
