Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is the second most frequent malignant tumor of the female reproductive system in Egypt. In recent years, the incidence and deaths of EC have been increased. SLCO4C1 is found to have a role in various tumors such as head and neck, renal, ovarian and prostate cancer. In EC, it controls endometrial cancer cells' migration, apoptosis, proliferation, and other traits. This study's objective was to investigate the expression and prognostic role of SLCO4C1 in endometrial lesions. The immunohistochemical expression of SLCO4C1 was examined in 20 cases of atypical endometrial hyperplasia (AEH) and 100 cases of EC tissues. The association between expression patterns of this marker and clinicopathologic parameters was analyzed separately. SLCO4C1 was highly expressed in endometrial cells' membrane and/or cytoplasm of in (70%) of AEH cases and (48%) of EC cases. High expression of SLCO4C1 in EC was associated with lower tumor grade (P = 0.03).
