STUDY OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION WORKERS' AWARENESS LEVEL OF LOCAL BEAN PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY IN THE CANAL AREA

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the prevailing social and economic characteristics of the respondents, examined the level of awareness among agricultural extension workers regarding the productivity efficiency of local bean cultivation in the Canal Area, and explored the nature of the correlation between the independent variables studied and the level of awareness of agricultural extension workers regarding the productivity efficiency of local beans in the Canal Area. Additionally, the study sought to identify the factors affecting the level of awareness among agricultural extension workers regarding local bean productivity efficiency, the role played by extension workers in improving local bean cultivation, and the suggestions provided by extension workers to enhance the agricultural extension role in improving local bean cultivation. The sample consisted of 20% of the total agricultural extension workers in the Canal Area, which totals 480 workers, resulting in 120 respondents chosen randomly using the ideal case method. The results showed that seven variables contributed to explaining the variance in the awareness level of agricultural extension workers regarding the productivity efficiency of local beans. These variables accounted for approximately 29.7% of the variance in awareness levels among agricultural extension workers regarding the productivity efficiency of local bean cultivation.
