The dataset comprises spider specimens recorded from five localities sampled in western South Africa (RNP - Richtersveld National Park; NIG - Nigramoep Slow Living Guest Farm; NNP - Namaqua National Park; ANR - Akkerendam Nature Reserve; TKNP - Tankwa Karoo National Park) in four contrasting biotopes (RIP - dry river bed; OPL - open plain; ESL - east-facing mountain slope; WSL - west-facing mountain slope) using three sampling methods (LL - hand collecting in leaf litter; ROC - hand collecting from rocks; BTS - beating foliage), with 12 samples taken from each locality-biotope-method combination.
