Securing Transactions Using Permissioned Blockchain Technology: The Case of the Egyptian Real Estate Sector

Abstract

Blockchain interoperability is crucial for advancing the technology across various industries. As enterprises increasingly use permissioned blockchain for secure data management, enabling these networks to communicate and exchange information becomes essential. This capability is particularly important for business-to-business (B2B) applications, where organizations need to integrate different systems to coordinate operations and share data smoothly. Implementing interoperability in permissioned blockchain allows businesses to fully leverage their blockchain investments by improving data sharing, cross-network transactions, and resource utilization. Using smart contracts across different blockchain can automate transactions, speed up processing, minimize errors, and enhance trust through transparent and immutable records. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on blockchain applications in real estate and offers a viable pathway for the modernization of real estate transactions in Egypt. The results suggest that adopting blockchain could significantly reduce the incidence of fraud, lower transaction costs, and expedite the transfer of property ownership, ultimately leading to a more efficient and trustworthy real estate market.
