The Strategic, Adequate, Versatile and Economical (S.A.V.E) food system is necessary for sustainable interventions geared toward achieving food security for more than 8 billion citizen of the world. The growing population of more than 800 million, facing daily chronic hunger is unfortunate, however, requires urgent and intelligent attention. The nexus of food systems, global nutrition and socioeconomic development have been well established but the present food systems are unable to adequately contribute to food security due to many challenges. This is a dangerous signal for SDG goal and the vision 2030. Current food system is not pivoted by S.A.V.E. processes, programmes and policies to pursue strategic requirements and agenda of food security. A S.A.V.E. food system should encourage coherent organisation and deployment of people, institutions, activities, processes and relevant equipment, irrespective of prevalent challenges to reduce food losses and food wastes considerably while pursuing abundance, availability and affordability of nutritious and health supported food. Strategic deployment of effort to drive necessary physical and professional energy, people and material resources, technical skills, political platforms, governance and government policies to embrace and project essential interventions, innovations and technology capable of economically propelling food security need to be Initiated, implemented and sustained.
