Abstract

Pollution is a significant environmental concern that affects both rural and urban areas. In rural regions, pollution primarily stems from agricultural activities and the burning of biomass for cooking and heating purposes. Pesticide and fertilizer runoff contaminates water bodies, leading to water pollution, while the release of ammonia and greenhouse gases from livestock production contributes to air pollution. In contrast, urban areas face pollution challenges due to industrial activities, transportation emissions, and high population densities. Industrial factories release toxic chemicals, particulate matter, and greenhouse gases into the air, significantly degrading air quality. The combustion of fossil fuels in vehicles, coupled with traffic congestion, results in high levels of air pollution Additionally, improper waste management practices in urban settings contribute to water, air, and soil pollution. Both rural and urban areas struggle with pollution-related health issues, such as respiratory problems, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. Furthermore, pollution negatively impacts ecosystems.
