Background: Diabetes mellitus is a multifaceted, long-lasting medical condition that requires comprehensive risk-reduction methods that go beyond managing glucose levels. Continuous diabetes self-management education and assistance play a crucial role in empowering individuals, minimizing immediate difficulties, and mitigating the likelihood of long-term complications. Substantial data exists that substantiates several interventions aimed at enhancing diabetes outcomes. The aim of the work is to evaluate risk factors associated with Diabetic foot ulcer patients at the Diabetes and Endocrinology unit at Minia University Hospital. Methods: The current study is a cross-sectional prospective case-control study was conducted on 66 persons 22 males and 44 females of the same age group (28:65years) were selected from outpatient clinic of Diabetes and Endocrinology unit, Department of internal medicine in Minia University Hospital from february 2020 to May 2022. Results Our results showed that there was a statistical significant difference as regard WBCs, neutrophil, A/C ratio, FBG, 2-hr PPBG, HbA1c, fasting insulin, HOMAIR, HOMAB, CH, LDL, TG and HDL between the two groups Healthy control group and Diabetic foot ulcer group with p value (p=0.0001 for all except 0.04 for HOMA-B and0.002 for TG). Conclusion FBG, 2-hr PPBG, HbA1c, fasting insulin, HOMA IR, CH, LDL, TG and HDL are important risk factors for DFU
