Resilience in higher education has emerged as a critical area of focus, particularly in a context such as South Africa, which is known for its systemic inequalities and socioeconomic challenges. The higher education sector in South Africa faces pressures rooted in historical inequities, financial constraints, and structural inefficiencies. This chapter examines resilience in this context by drawing on a systematic review of 596 articles published over the last four years on resilience.
