Abstract

The Nigerian mining sector has witnessed significant growth in recent years, driven by vast mineral resources and government efforts to diversify the economy. However, the sector faces several challenges related to regulatory and enforcement mechanisms in mining laws. This research article critically examines the existing regulatory frameworks and enforcement mechanisms in Nigerian mining laws, identifies the challenges impeding their effectiveness, and proposes sustainable solutions. Through an in-depth analysis of Nigerian mining legislation, international best practices, and empirical data, this article provides insights into how Nigeria can harness its mining potential while ensuring environmental sustainability, legal compliance, and inclusive growth.
