Realization and control of a high voltage gain DC-DC converter for CubeSat electric propulsion

Abstract

This paper presents the steps of realization of the proposed high voltage gain DC-DC converter. Namely, design of its printed circuit board, its high frequency transformer design and closed-loop control to feeding CubeSat Electrospray thrusters with a variable output voltage according to the maneuver size. The implementation of the Proportional Integral (PI) with 430FR5739 microcontroller to control this converter is accomplished.To assess its performances and verify its effectiveness, the experimental checks on the proposed breadboard are performed.
