Present State of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria

Abstract

The data describes the present state of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. As of April 2021, there were 44 Federal universities in Nigeria, with 52 State universities, Private universities were 99, which made the total number of universities in Nigeria to 195. Similarly, there were 38 Federal Polytechnics, 48 State Polytechnics, 61 Private Polytechnics, which made the total number of Polytechnics in Nigeria to 147, also there were 28 Federal Colleges of Education, 51 State Colleges f Education, 84 Private Colleges of Education, 10 Polytechnics offering NCE, and 1 other institution, which made the total number of NCE-Awarding Institutions in Nigeria to 174
