Polymer Nanocomposites Based on Metal Oxide Nanoplatelets

Abstract

Polymer metal oxide nanocomposites are some of the greatly studied materials for a variety of applications ranging from biosensors to memory devices, exhibiting interesting properties such as ease of synthesis via multiple routes, tunability in terms of conductivity, compatibility with biomolecules, and ease of modification via the use of various materials. The rising demand for polymer metal oxide nanocomposites is due to their high performance in most devices, especially electronic displays and health diagnostics and therapeutics. This chapter mainly focuses on methods that are easy to operate and effective in terms of cost for the synthesis of electro-synthetic composite films. These types of composites possess exceptional morphologies and physical, electronic, and electrochemical properties, enabling flexible application, particularly in sensors and energy storage.
