Phylogenetic dataset and tree for New fossil Crocodylus from the Middle-Late Pleistocene of Singa and Abu Hugar, Sudan

2026Open accessCairo University

Abstract

This dataset contains the morphological character matrix and phylogenetic tree files supporting the phylogenetic analysis presented in the manuscript "New fossil Crocodylus from the Middle-Late Pleistocene of Singa and Abu Hugar, Sudan, reveals the persistence of fossil African lineages." The dataset comprises 195 morphological characters scored for 51 taxa and was analysed using TNT. The analysis recovered 93 most-parsimonious trees of 286 steps. The repository contains the TNT-format character matrix and the resulting phylogenetic tree file.
