The paper presents the evaluation of the Performance of Hit FM 95.7MHz Radio Signal Strength along five selected routes in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The methodology involves the use of the Tinysa Spectrum Analyzer to measure the signal strength at intervals of 500 meters across the selected routes in Benin City. A Distance Area Application and Global Positioning Receiver System (GPRS) were also employed to measure the distances from the Base Station Transmitter across the routes in the location. A path loss model was evaluated based on these measurements and compared to standard models of the Hata, Egli, Free Space and Durkin’s models. The results obtained showed a path loss increase of 95.44dB per decade in the urban area and the developed model outperforms existing models and the free space model proved closest to the measured data
