PANI/METAL OXIDE (NIO, ZNO) NANOCOMPOSITES FOR SUPERCAPACITOR ELECTRODE: ENGINEERING PERFORMANCE AND SYNERGISTIC DESIGN

Abstract

Supercapacitors ( SCs ) , which are electrochemical capacitors that offer high quick energy storage , superior cycling stability , and extended operating lives , serve as a bridge between conventional capacitors and batteries . Advanced materials and creative design techniques are being investigated to improve supercapacitors' capacity to store energy . In this work , nickel cobaltite oxide ( NCO ) , zinc cobaltite oxide ( ZCO ) , NCO / MWCNTs nanocomposite and ZCO / MWCNTs nanocomposite have been synthesized . The optical , structural and morphological properties of NCO / MWCNTs and ZCO / MWCNTs nanocomposites were investigated . Electrochemical properties of samples cast onto nickel foam substrate were measured in 2.0 M KOH using cyclic voltammetry ( CV ) and electrochemical impedance techniques ( EIS ) . NCO/MWCNTs and ZCO/MWCNTs nanocomposites exhibited specific capacitance values of 998.88 and 789.8 F/g at 5.0 mV/s ; respectively .
