The optimal performance of thermal and energy systems is crucial in today’s industrial sector. Therefore, emphasizing effective energy use monitoring and control becomes essential. The integration of emerging technologies has significantly enhanced the potential for energy consumption optimization, providing enterprises with opportunities to improve overall performance while reducing their environmental impact. The literature offers various strategies to address these challenges, such as intelligent energy management systems that utilize IoT infrastructure for remote monitoring and regulation of energy use. Combining IoT-based infrastructures with AI-driven data analysis expands energy optimization possibilities. Our objective is to present a comprehensive plan for transitioning into the Energy 4.0 era, combining cutting-edge technologies and specialized digitalization solutions. Our strategy primarily focuses on creating an ecosystem that combines Big Data, the Internet of Things, AI and other technologies, facilitating a new perspective on maximizing energy use and enhancing overall performance. To validate the feasibility of our approach, we conducted a case study using an industrial organization’s boiler system. This allowed us to put our approach into practice and assess its efficiency. The suggested method achieved an accuracy rate of about 99%, demonstrating exceptional effectiveness. Consequently, there was a noticeable improvement in the boiler’s efficiency and a reduction in energy use.
