This research primarily focuses on evaluating the performance of a hybrid VAWT using CFD analysis. The study examines the impact of varying internal rotor arc angles on the hybrid turbine performance. The numerical approach has been validated for each rotor independently in order to guarantee the accuracy of the hybrid turbine simulation results. NACA0018 airfoil was used as an external rotor, while an internal rotor with arc angles of 180, 135, and 90 degrees was employed at a wind velocity of 8 m/s. The hybrid turbine, which has an internal rotor of a 135-degree arc angle, has the highest Cp at a TSR of 1.5, possessing a Cp higher than the 180- and 90-degree arc-angle rotors by 12.1%. and 16.7%, respectively. This increase in Cp is due to improved aerodynamics surrounding both internal and exterior rotors.
