These findings indicate substantial contamination of slaughterhouse environments with multidrug-resistant <i>E. coli</i> and underscore the need for improved hygiene practices, prudent antimicrobial use, and strengthened molecular surveillance to limit the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance along the human food chain.
