Mob Assault in South Africa: The Public Health Consequences of a Failing Justice System

Abstract

Mob assault is a growing public health concern in South Africa, with victims experiencing higher rates of morbidity and mortality than other forms of interpersonal violence. Increased awareness of mob-related injuries and clinical recognition of crush injury patterns may improve early outcomes. However, further research is required to inform targeted prevention strategies and develop effective interventions.
