Longitudinal business performance data from North Wollo, Ethiopia, during armed conflict (2020–2025)

Abstract

This dataset supports the study "Armed conflict and business performance in sub-Saharan Africa: evidence from Ethiopia, 2020–2025." It contains longitudinal panel data collected annually from 119 businesses in North Wollo, Ethiopia, from pre-conflict (2020) through five years of civil unrest (2021–2025). Variables include business sector (manufacturing, trade, service), business size (micro, small, medium, large), annual income, physical damage status, and survival status. Data were collected via structured surveys. The file is anonymised and contains no personally identifiable information.
