Leveraging Smart Crop Recommendation Systems and Climate-Resilient Practices for Sustainable Agriculture in Developing Regions: A Brief Review

Abstract

The adoption of trending technologies including Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain, is revolutionizing modern agriculture especially in crop recommendation systems. Current research is increasingly looking at the use of these technologies to refine the decision-making process, efficiency, and transparency in smart agriculture. AI models are leveraged with live data collected through IoT sensors to inform crop selection processes. Blockchain is used to enforce data integrity and provenance along the agricultural supply chain. To contribute to the current debate, this paper scrutinizes key methodologies, challenges, and future trends of AI-IoT-blockchain ecosystems for sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture. Although these technologies present great prospects for improving crop yields and resource use, issues such as data reliability, interoperability, and scalability need to be solved for their adoption on a large scale.
