Leveraging Blockchain and IoMT for a Smart Blood Donation System

Abstract

Blockchain and IoT technologies offer significant advancements in data security, transparency, and efficiency. Their integration addresses critical data management challenges in various sectors, including healthcare. The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) leverages these technologies to enhance real-time health monitoring and remote patient care by securing and decentralizing medical data. Despite progress in blood donation management, existing systems face issues like data security, traceability, and trust. Therefore, our proposed blood donation management system utilizes IoMT and blockchain to ensure secure data storage, improve communication between donors, recipients, and healthcare providers, and streamline the donation process. The study details the system's architecture, algorithms, and security measures, along with implementation and performance results, highlighting the effectiveness of smart contracts. By addressing potential security threats and proposing robust solutions, this work aims to revolutionize blood donation management, ensuring secure and transparent data handling,
