Abstract

Aquatic plant community consists of a variety of macrophyte organisms. Macrophytes are aquatic plants that grow in or near water, and they can be classified as emergent, submergent, or floating types. The study was conducted in Bauchi Local Government Area to document and compiled voucher specimens of macrophytes. Swamps, rivers, and rockpools are the aquatic ecosystems used for the study. Non-probability sampling method (non-random sampling) was used to document macrophytes. Thirty three (33) species belonging to 19 families were recorded and complied. This study contributes checklist and in-situ photographs including rare and common macrophytes taxa including , Ammannia senegalensis and many more macrophytes taxa. Ongoing habitat degradation, infrastructure developments, urbanization, and bad agricultural practice remains threats to macrophytes and their ecosystems.
