The behavior of a square concrete slab under an impact load has been studied using ABAQUS software. A cone-shaped striker with a round nose of 40 mm and a total weight of 105 kg was dropped from a height of 2.5 m to strike the center of the slab. The simulation results showed good agreement with available experimental data. After validating the model, further studies were carried out to understand how variations in impact energy, due to different drop heights and concrete strengths, influenced the slab’s response. The observations revealed that slabs made with higher-strength concrete resisted impact better but showed more brittle failure, while those with lower-strength concrete absorbed more energy and exhibited greater plastic deformation during impact.
