The fast expansion of Industry 4.0 technologies creates new opportunity to reinvent traditional warehousing practices, yet the difficulty of removing systematic waste persists. Although Lean Manufacturing has long been acknowledged as a key to waste reduction, its integration with I4.0 technologies remains unexplored in the context of smart warehouses. This article provides a dynamic conceptual framework that combines Industry 4.0 technology and Lean principles to create sustainable, zero-waste storage, paving the path for Lean 5.0. The proposed framework addresses both overt wastes-such as overproduction and excess inventory-and more subtle inefficiencies, such as energy losses and process variability, by incorporating real-time data analytics, RFID and barcode, and automated decisionmaking and storage into Lean methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping and Just-In-Time. A case study done at a Moroccan beverage bottling facility revealed a 30% decrease in inventory-related waste and a $25 \%$ increase in operational throughput achieved by IoT-enabled inventory monitoring and AI-driven demand forecasting, respectively. Furthermore, the application of Machine Learning algorithms strengthens Lean’s kaizen concept by allowing for proactive waste detection and detailed root cause investigation. This scalable, technology-agnostic paradigm combines the theoretical goals of Lean with the practical needs of Industry 4.0, laying the groundwork for a new age of Lean 5.0 centered on sustainability and zero waste.
