Hand weaving tools and materials

Abstract

Hand weaving is a kind of weaving that is created by hand with basic equipment and conventional processes. In hand weaving, such as cloth weaving, loom weaving, or plain weaving, threads or fibers are formed together. A loom is a tool for weaving tapestries and fabrics. Any loom's primary function is to maintain the warp threads under tension so that the weft threads may interweave more easily. Although the loom's exact form and mechanism may differ, its fundamental purpose remains the same. Two pairs of threads or yarns that cross one another are used for weaving. The strands stretched on the loom are called warp threads. Weft threads are introduced such that each thread crosses over and beneath warp threads. There are many different kinds of looms; the most popular one is the frame loom. The loom is set up, and the right threads and weaving implements are employed for the product, which passes through various steps to becoming cloth.
