Grepafloxacin degradation and mineralization in water by Electro-Fenton process

Abstract

The quantity of hydroxyl radicals in the Electro-Fenton process is influenced by the cathode material's H2O2 production capacity. Factors such as cathode type, current density range (50 -500 mA), and Fe2+ concentrations (0.05 - 0.2 mM) impact the efficiency. This study focuses on Grepafloxacin removal from water using Electro-Fenton, with CF outperforming CG in H2O2 generation.The optimal conditions for CF were (400 mA) and ( 0.1 mM) Fe2+. HPLC identified intermediates, and ion chromatography measured inorganic ions post-mineralization.
