We report the first occurrence of Ictinogomphus ferox (Rambur, 1842) (Odonata, Gomphidae) in Algeria, based on material collected in Tassili n’Ajjer National Park (Central Sahara). Between 2022 and 2023, four adult males and three ultimate larval stadium exuviae were collected from six sites at two localities. To our knowledge, these records constitute the first documented occurrences of this Afrotropical species in North Africa. This finding increases the number of gomphid species recorded from Algeria to seven and from the Maghreb region to nine.
