Experimental Study of the Thermal Behaviour of Solar Cookers in the Climate of the Eastern Region of Morocco

Abstract

This research, explores the thermal dynamics of two solar cookers with distinct triangular and rectangular shapes, focusing on the impact of opening the cooking systems for a specified duration. The study was carried out under meteoro-logical conditions of Oujda city, Morocco, at the University of Mohamed 1st. To assess the efficiency of the studied solar cookers, a controlled experiment was executed, placing a 1.5 L water-filled enclosure inside each cooker. While, the primary focus revolves around evaluating the impact of exposing these cooking systems for an opening predetermined duration. The pivotal parameters considered for analysis and performance assessment encompass the evolution of absorber, air, and water temperatures, Moreover, a thermal Flip camera was used in this work in order to visualize the temperature distribution inside the solar cookers.
