In the realm of public health, vaccination stands as a critical defense against infectious diseases, gaining unparalleled significance amidst global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic. The efficient management of vaccines throughout their lifecycle is paramount. However, existing challenges in developing a comprehensive model that seamlessly integrates vaccine lifecycle data have been identified. This paper addresses the literature gaps by highlighting the need for a model capable of fully addressing the intricacies of the vaccine lifecycle. Through a meticulous evaluation of the most cited models and approaches in the literature, we scrutinize their compliance with the nuances of vaccine life cycle management. Our study contributes to the field by not only recognizing these gaps but also proposing a robust approach that utilizes Data Modeling and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) strategies to enhance vaccine lifecycle management. By introducing alternative product data models and establishing criteria for their evaluation within the context of vaccination lifecycle management, this work provides a comprehensive exploration of the current landscape and charts potential avenues for future research.
