Ensuring Security in Smart Cities through the voice recognition system: A state of the art

Abstract

In a world where interconnectedness prevails, security matters more than ever. The increasing prevalence of digital operations and the wide storage of sensitive information heighten the need for reliable identity verification. Biometric security systems provide a convenient, secure, and dependable approach to verifying people's identities. Biometric security systems rely on a person's unique physical or behavioral traits to verify their identity. These features can include fingerprints, facial features, voice patterns, and even the way they walk. Biometric systems are more secure than traditional authentication methods like passwords or security tokens because these biological and behavioral traits are hard to fake or copy. In this paper, we present the state of the art of existing biometric authentication systems. We highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each method. And we present some of the well-known applications and companies that use these techniques. In addition, we proposed a Multimodal biometric system as a future direction to be considered by researchers in the future.
