Abstract

The security of automotive embedded systems and their associated supply chains is becoming increasingly critical due to the rise in cyber threats targeting these systems. As vehicles incorporate more advanced functionalities and are interconnected, they become more vulnerable to cyber-attacks. This article explores integrating blockchain technology to enhance the security and reliability of automotive embedded systems and supply chain management. The study discusses how blockchain can address various security challenges by providing secure communication protocols, enabling proactive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. It highlights the potential of blockchain in autonomous vehicles, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication, and the broader automotive supply chain. By leveraging blockchain’s decentralized and cryptographic features, the research presents solutions to improve safety, reliability, and compliance in the automotive industry. The findings suggest that blockchain technology, combined with established standards and methodologies, can significantly mitigate security risks, and enhance the overall performance of automotive embedded systems.
