Similar to Empidideicus (E.) croceus by having a dark prescutellar area, a yellow scutellum, and black frons, but can be separated from it by the black face (white in E. (E.) croceus). In Morocco, this species was collected in a humid pine forest in the Rif around a peat bog, as well as in an oasis of palm trees under an arid climate in the Anti-Atlas (Map 1). It was also found in a coastal habitat along the southern Atlantic Plain where semi-arid climate and salty winds prevail. Distribution: Morocco, Portugal, Spain.
