Easily separated from the congeners in North Africa and Iberia possessing a yellow scutellum by the brown spot laterally on the tergites at the aera of the abdominal spiracle (no other species of Empidideicus from this region have this). Remarks. No new material has been examined of this species since its original description. Evenhuis (2024) listed NHMM as the type depository. This was an error. The type is in BPBM. This species occurs in three distinct habitats in Morocco (Map 1). It was collected from a coastal habitat in the Anti-Atlas along the southern Atlantic Plain, from a cedar forest under a perhumid climate in the Middle Atlas at high altitude, and from a lowland dotted by Asteraceae plants under a humid climate in the Rif at the north of Morocco. Distribution. Morocco, Portugal, Spain.
