This study investigated emerging adults’ restiveness and national security challenges in Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design of quantitative nature. The population for this study consists of 300 Nigerian youths residing in Ibadan Oyo state and Osogbo Osun state. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 300 emerging adults’ consisting of 150 male and 150 female youths. Two research questions were answered and Emerging Adults’ Restiveness and National Security Challenges in Nigeria Scale was used for data collection. The instrument is self-constructed by the researchers and it was validated using test-retest method. It has an internal consistency of 0.86. The data of the study was analyzed using t-test and Pearson Product Moment Correlation statistical tools to answer the research question at 0.05 alpha level of significance. The result of the study revealed that negative relationship exists between emerging adult restiveness and national security challenges in Nigeria; r (298) = -0.24, p<.05. Also, it was found that boys are more involved in emerging adult restiveness and national security challenges in Nigeria (x = 6.87) than girls (x = 5.35). Therefore, it was recommended that Government needs to come up with people friendly policies that would enhance the potential development of its youth for them to have the capacity to support development and safety of the society.
