Background: to neonatal gut microbiota. Methods: was evaluated against neonatal characteristics. Results: colonization, but a trend towards an increased likelihood of colonization among females, asphyxiated and neonates whose mothers had prolonged labour was observed. Conclusion: has emerged as an important part of gut microbiota among neonates in Nigeria, but its' role in neonatal dysbiosis and infection remains unclear.
