Does economic policy uncertainty affect monetary policy and election’s governance in United States?

Abstract

Abstract This paper examines the impact of economic policy uncertainty on US interest rates and election policy. For estimating monthly data from 2008 to 2021 he uses a VAR model. Our estimates suggest that a one-standard-deviation shock in economic policy uncertainty has a negative impact on electoral policy in the short run. Although it does not affect interest rates.
