Abstract

Interest in freshwater fungi on the other hand has also continued to grow over the last few decades in light of the changes in research methods and the increase in effort towards freshwater mycology. This review illustrates mycpathing to mushroom the importance of cataloguing and synthesizing available and most recent evidence on mycology. This review is like other review articles on fungi in freshwater systems in that it is about the biology and the freshwater fungi the final section of the review is devoted to the biochemistry and the biology of freshwater fungi. Other detailed review articles on the geography, the biology and the diversity of higher and basal freshwater fungi have also been published. However, the review is unorthodox in that it supplyes provides what is to the attention what is to the author of this review the hitherto most detailed mycology of filamentous fungi.
