The present study was undertaken to determine the pathogenicity profile of prepared food borne Salmonella pathogens sold in Ogwashi – Ukwu town, Delta States. Standard plate techniques, antibiotic sensitivity testing, blood haemolytic assay and analytical profile index were adopted in the methodology. The results revealed that showed that meat sample B had the highest Salmonella count of 4.36 log CFU/g, Sample D (3.98 log CFU/g) and Sample C (4.02 log CFU/g) while sample A had the lowest Salmonella count of 3.33 log CFU/g. The total heterotrophic bacterial count were too numerous to count in both samples. Additionally, most of the isolates were resistant to nalidixic acid, augmentin and streptomycin antibiotics. Isolates III were found to possess the most multiple antibiotic resistant index. The result further revealed that all the three isolates were haemolytic in their pathogenicity responses and the selected multiple resistant SIII isolate was tentatively identified as Salmonella sp. The present study highlighted the leading role of mobile food samples from different vendors in the transmission of antibiotic-resistant and virulent Salmonella pathogens to human populations.
