Curated Avocado Leaf Image Dataset for Healthy and Cercospora Leaf Spot Classification

Abstract

This curated dataset contains labeled images of avocado (Persea americana) leaves collected from avocado farms in Rungwe District Council, Mbeya Region, Tanzania. The images are organized into two classes: healthy leaves and leaves affected by Cercospora leaf spot. The dataset was developed to support research on automated classification of healthy avocado leaves and Cercospora leaf spot-affected leaves using machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision techniques. Images were captured under natural field conditions to reflect variations in lighting, background, leaf orientation, and disease appearance that may occur in real agricultural environments.
