Concurrent Incidence of Natal Teeth and Dental Lamina Cyst in a Child

Abstract

Abstract Natal teeth and dental lamina cysts are the rare developmental anomalies in newborns; however, their concurrent occurrence is exceptionally uncommon. While a conservative ‘watch-and-wait’ approach is commonly adopted for both conditions, extraction of natal teeth may be indicated when there is a risk of aspiration or interference with breastfeeding. This report presents a rare case of a healthy 4-week-old infant with coexisting dental lamina cysts and natal teeth. Careful clinical assessment, informed decision-making and thorough parental counselling remain the cornerstone of effective management in such cases.
